Yum Jar Returns for Level 3!

Kia Ora Yum Jar Friends & Whanau,

I hope you have all been coping as well as possible during the lockdown. I've been trying to keep busy and active but also mindful to not always be pushing myself to be productive. I believe we all need to go easy on ourselves in these uncertain times, just to stay sane and keep a positive mindset.

Speaking of positive, the response to the Pandemic Pack Cookbook that we contributed a couple recipes to has been absolutely incredible, with sales of the book now at over 5000 copies! Needless to say all of us involved are completely overwhelmed and totally humbled by the support our communities have shown. The e-book is still for sale online at www.pandemicpack.co.nz/the-collaborative-cookbook so if you missed it, head over there, take a look at what's inside on the contents page. You can buy a copy for $10, or whatever amount you would like to contribute. The proceeds are being split evenly among the 'Pack': 16 small independent businesses of Wellington that have had to close during the lockdown - a super tough ask for small hospitality operations that are true labours of love with margins under 10% and that run on a shoe string from week to week! So, once again, thankyou so much to everyone helping support us all, we really appreciate it from the bottom of our hospo-hearts!

Recipes for Lokai Veggie Box Deliveries

We've also shared some of our recipes for free on local market-veggie-box-delivery LOKAI's website! The veggies in the recipes correspond with the beaut produce that they are delivering; large boxes at amazing prices, delivered contactless to your door! Take a look, order a box here and get cooking!

Re-opening of Yum Jar!
We were all very excited to hear that the lockdown would be lifted to level 3 next week, and just as excited about what this means for us as a business...
In short: we will be able to resume operating Yum Jar from Tuesday 28th April!
A new menu will be online from Friday evening and sent out via this newsletter, and on our social media platforms as usual. Delivery Times will still be from approximately 11am-1pm, but as we anticipate having to deliver a lot more outside the city centre than usual, we may sometimes run past 1pm. Our delivery zones are on the How It Works page of our site. Side note: I'm currently investigating in-vehicle heating options for keeping our food hotter for longer, for this possibly longer delivery window!

Pandemic Pack Collaborative Deliveries
We are also going to be collaborating with the Pandemic Pack, (a group that includes some of our fave plant-based and gluten free businesses like
Sweet Release and Willi's Kitchen!) to get all our unique and delicious products to you in combined orders.
As this is completely new territory for all of us we haven't worked out all the finer details of this operation just yet, but will be doing so over the next few days, and updating the
Pandemic Pack website, Facebook and Instagram accordingly. So follow them online to stay up to date!

We look forward to delivering to you again so soon!

Nga Mihi,

Ottilie Smith
