A FRESH START
Happy New Year!
We hope you are all having a wonderful summer. It's been lovely to take some time off to spend with friends and whānau, eating delicious kai, chilling at the beach, getting into the garden, and generally appreciating life. I just want to take a moment to acknowledge how lucky many of us are, especially here in this corner of the world, away from the devastating international unrest. I wish there was more we could do to help the people in these war-torn areas, in the meantime it seems we can only share information to raise awareness, and try to put pressure on our local and national government, who can in turn communicate internationally that violence is not a solution. If you are able, I urge you to spread awareness in your local community and message your local MPs with your views. Kia Kaha whānau, and look out for each other.
What's New for Yum Jar?
We are itching to get into our NEW kitchen that is 99% finished (just a tiny bit of plumbing to go!) and cook up a delicious storm. We hope to have an opening party at some point soon, also to celebrate also our 5th birthday as a registered business!
But first, we have some important updates and changes to announce:
New Cut-Off Time
Yes, to the relief of many of you we are changing our cut-off time so weekend orders are now automatically included. Cut-off time is now 5pm Sunday evenings, no exceptions for orders to be ready from 5:30pm the next day! (No deliveries on Monday, but you can opt to pick up your box on Monday evening).
We hope this will greatly reduce the complexity of our subscription service, as this has been an ongoing issue for many, and us! However it is important to note that we will be limiting weekend order numbers, so it's definitely best to still get your order in before the weekends.
New/Different Delivery Zones
We have changed some of the delivery zones and days they we deliver places to better suit our new location! Please check your zone on our Delivery Info page before ordering!
Summary of the changes:
- Wellington Zone now includes areas included in the Wellington city council area, up to and including Grenada North, Tawa & Linden, and these areas are delivered to Tuesday to Friday.
- Karori is now it's own zone and we deliver there on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.
- Now most central Lower Hutt suburbs (i.e. not just Petone) can receive deliveries on Wednesdays (see website for details)
- Porirua Zone now includes most of Porirua, including and up to Pukerua Bay, and Whitby, but delivery there is available on Thursdays only
- We now deliver up past Paekakariki to Raumati South, Paraparaumu, Waikanae, Peka Peka. This zone incurs a $5 delivery fee, and is available on Thursdays only
- Due to low order numbers in some isolated or further out areas, some addresses will now incur a $5 delivery fee. These are the following postcode areas: 5013, 5014, 5016, 5032, 5034, 5036, 5381, 5391. We do apologise for this inconvenience, but we do have to cover costs of extra delivery time taken, and extra charge ups for more kms on the EV.
Orders are now open!
